Full Moon In Scorpio: Alchemizing Scarcity To Create Inner Stability
May 1, 2026 11° 11:23am MDT.
As the closest celestial body to Earth the Moon moves with us as humans in a sacred dance that unfolds in rhythmic cycles mirroring the cycles of our emotions and bodies.
The Moon reflects the light of the Sun in varying degrees on its journey each month. Approximately every 27-29 days it orbits completely around the Earth. It’s during that full cycle that we will see each lunar phase.
In astrology the Moon only takes 2-2.5 days to transit between zodiac signs and each month we typically have one New Moon in the sign of that season and one Full Moon in the sign opposite of that season.
It is important to know that not every New Moon and not every Full Moon may be significant for you personally. What makes a lunation powerful for you is if it is conjunct or closely aspecting personal placements in your natal chart but as a general rule Supermoons and eclipses are felt more deeply by all.
A Full Moon is the lunar phase when the Moon appears fully illuminated from Earth’s perspective. When the Full Moon occurs the Sun and Moon are exactly opposite each other in the sky.
Full Moons signify a culmination of energy, the height of a cycle, and the illumination of emotions and themes that have been building.
This Full Moon will occur at 11° Scorpio on May 1, 2026 at 11:23am MDT.
Here are some do’s and dont’s for Full Moons:
Do’s:
Allow space
Seek clarity
Practice reflection
Move your body
Charge crystals
Do a ritual
Dont’s:
Overdo it
Impulsively react
Make a big decision
Rush into things
Initiate conflict
Hold things in
As the Moon is in its fall in Scorpio its lunations each year can usually be an emotionally sensitive and charged up time (especially the Full Moon as these represent the culmination of energy or emotions). The Moon is in fall here because the deep and transformative nature of Scorpio is more difficult for the Moon’s need for emotional safety and steadiness. As a fixed water sign emotions run deep but aren’t always expressed openly.
If you have the Moon in Scorpio in your natal chart you likely tend to be guarded and protective of your inner world which can in turn make others understanding you and your emotional needs more difficult but it’s important to remember this isn’t a “bad” thing.. it’s just something your soul chose to have and work with in this lifetime.
Most of us will have at least one planet in detriment or fall in our charts. It’s about having awareness so you can begin to understand how to work with this energy rather than against it. Also in my experience those who have Scorpio Moons have the capacity for incredibly emotional alchemy if they allow it.
For those of us who don’t have a natal Scorpio Moon we can experience this energy each month when the Moon transits through Scorpio for about 2-2.5 days at a time but during its New Moon and Full Moon periods each year is when we will feel it the most.
Also for the past 7 years each of the Scorpio lunations has been in opposition to Uranus in Taurus in some capacity which has added to the intensity normally present with this sign. Now this is the first lunation completely free of this opposition in a very long time as Uranus recently left Taurus for good.
Uranus departing from Taurus has been highly sensationalized by many which I can understand to an extent if I’m being generous but it’s also not honest to say that all fixed signs will now be entering into “the best time period of their life” now that Uranus is out of Taurus.
This is just not how astrology works but unfortunately it is how it is spread through the masses. Astrology is so much more nuanced than this. It is also important to acknowledge that Uranus does have a more difficult time being in the sign of fixed earth but if it wasn’t for Uranus those of us with many fixed placements (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) would have stayed comfortably uncomfortable in the parts of our charts that Uranus activated.
So sit with yourself and really reflect on the past 7-8 years and what has changed in your life that was incredibly difficult to go through in the moment but liberating in the long run when you look back. You can do this regardless of how many fixed placements you have in your chart as each of these signs will all rule an area of life for you.
This is much easier said than done as it’s convenient to move on to looking at how the next transit or lunation will impact your chart rather than sitting with emotions you’ve tried to push down but this is the realness and depth that Scorpio energy craves. This is how you can alchemize past (and current) pain to truly transform and break free from any lingering feelings of scarcity or instability often activated with the Taurus-Scorpio axis. This is what this lunation is asking of you before you charge ahead.
In the rest of this post we are going to go into the collective themes of this specific Full Moon in Scorpio, the placements most impacted by it, and how to work with this energy to alchemize lack and scarcity to create inner stability.
